Paula Berends

Hailing from New Richmond, WI, Paula Berends is the new 2005 St Paul Winter Carnival Klondike Kate. Her parents, John and Kathy, siblings, Pam and Brian, and nephews, Nick and Pat, are all very proud of her. She became active in the theatre and with singing at the age of seven when she joined the Stage Door Players. In high school, she was in the Concert Choir and and in their theatre productions. She is a 1992 New Richmond High School graduate. Paula was also active in the Concert Choir at UW - River Falls. She graduated in 1996 with a BS in Mathematics and a minor in Economics. She has been in a couple of productions with the Willow River Players too. She has worked in downtown St Paul for the past ten years. She currently works as an account administrator for Securian Retirement Services, a business unit of Minnesota Life. Paula enjoys playing horseshoes, bocce ball, and darts. She also LOVES to sing karaoke.
